2014 KICK-OFF!

We've just kicked of the new year of Bristol Sailing and, as usual, there have been many events taking place for our members, new and old.

Welcome Fair - this was our first event for us to meet the new freshers of the year. With our stand decked out in flags and photos, we attracted a lot of interest. Our tally of sign ups by the end of the day was 269! However, due to the intensity, long hours and the boiling hot tent, I think we were all very glad when the day was over.

Fresh Sailing and Welcome BBQ- The first week of term was absolutely packed with sailing opportunities. We had a record breaking turn out at the Welcome BBQ at Baltic Wharf. Over 70 sailors, Freshers and seasoned club members alike, turned up for free burgers and some expert instruction on the water. With sightings of 3 in a topper and 4 in a Feva, Fred and Alex made sure nobody missed out.

A sunday spent at Chew with our more experienced Freshers was a good introduction to Fireflies and teamracing in preparation for trials.
