Bristol Brew 2017!

Light winds and cold weather were the theme of the 2017 Bristol Brew and the Saturday was particularly challenging for Martin Smethers and his race team. Despite this 36 races were managed in the difficult breeze, and the day ended with Exeter Blue and Royal Thames Yacht Club fighting for the top spot. The breeze on the Sunday was significantly better and the round robin ended with teams having completed 8 races each. The Semi finalists were Royal Thames, Exeter Blue, Exeter Black and Cardiff Black, and both finals were done in 2 races again leaving Exeter Blue and Royal Thames on top. The final was exceptionally competitive with the result of both races only becoming clear on the final beat however Royal Thames prevailed and won the final 2-0. Well done to everyone who competed and to the volunteers and race team who managed to put together a fantastic event in challenging condition!
