The Welsh Dragon

The Welsh Dragon has always been a fun yet competitive event and with 3 Bristol teams competing, there was definitely more of a focus on having fun rather than doing well.

Unfortunately, the wind for the weekend was very light and so the 210 race schedule seemed very ambitious.

However, Cardiff did an amazing job and managed to run 84 races in very challenging conditions.

As this was the first event for our 3 teams, which had many new fresher sailors on, it was always going to prove to be a tough event. Yet the Bristol teams sailed very well, improving massively with every race and only just narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter finals.
